Validation Conditions

Validation conditions make sure a column only contains values that meet your rules, so your data stays reliable.

For example, you can allow only email addresses from your company domain, or only postal codes that are valid in your country.

A simple condition

This condition matches if the cell value contains "@mycompany.com".

If Enforce Constraints is ticked, invalid values can’t be saved. If it’s unticked, invalid values show a warning.

Regular expressions

A regular expression (regex) is a powerful and flexible way to define a condition. The one above matches 5-digit and 9-digit US ZIP codes.

Here, the ZIP_code field holds an invalid value. A warning icon appears because Enforce Constraints isn’t ticked. If it were, a red error icon would appear and you couldn’t save the record.
